New Thrills Await At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Spooky season is creeping around the corner at Disney World! Yes, you heard that right! Halloween is still months away. But if you’re anything like me, you’re already pulling out decorations and planning your costume—even if it’s still sweltering outside.

A pair of stacked jack-o-lanterns with cheerful faces are displayed in front of a historic building on Main Street, decorated with fall garlands and banners for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

It might seem early, but Disney’s Magic Kingdom is gearing up for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, happening on select nights in August, September, and October. And guess what? We’ve got some trick-or-treat-worthy news about two hot-ticket attractions!

A Hauntingly Good Time

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is more than just an after-hours event. It’s a spellbinding experience where the Magic Kingdom transforms into a spooky (but not too spooky) wonderland.

A hand holds the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event guide and map with Cinderella Castle in the background, surrounded by Halloween decorations and fall foliage.

You’ll need a special ticket to get in—so your standard park admission won’t cut it. But arriving at 4 PM with your party ticket gives you a head start before the ghoulish festivities begin at 7 PM. The party runs until midnight, letting you make the most of your witching hours.

Hold on to Your Haunted Hats!

This year, two of Magic Kingdom’s headlining attractions, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle / Run, will be open during the party—and they’re ditching the Virtual Queue!

Yep, you read that correctly. Forget scrambling for a spot in the Virtual Queue or shelling out for a Lightning Lane pass. Now, you can hop into the standby line as many times as your ghostly heart desires!

Virtual Queue Who?

In previous years, getting on TRON during the Halloween party felt like winning a golden ticket—thanks to that pesky Virtual Queue which opened up at 6 PM exclusively for party attendees.

While TRON has used standby lines for other After Hours events, this is its first appearance with a standby option at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We say, it’s a fang-tastic improvement.

More Frights, Less Wait

Alongside the thrilling rides, you can expect lower wait times for many other attractions since the party ticket limits attendance. That means more time for spellbinding entertainment like Mickey’s Boo To You Parade, which sweeps down Main Street twice a night.

Fireworks light up the night sky above Cinderella Castle at Disney World during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, with spooky projections and colorful bursts creating a magical scene.

And don’t forget Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular lighting up the skies, complete with a cameo from Jack Skellington himself!

Trick or Treat Yo’ Self!

And let’s not overlook the sweetest part of the party—trick-or-treating through Magic Kingdom! The candy haul is no joke, as Cast Members dole out generous scoops of sugary delights. You might need an extra suitcase just for your candy stash.

Guests walk through a festive entrance to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, featuring a colorful inflatable Mickey Mouse Halloween decoration and vibrant fall decorations.

With the inclusion of standby lines for TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is shaping up to be even more bewitching. Lower waits, epic entertainment, and a cavalcade of candy? Sign us up and secure those tickets asap!
