Where to Find Your Favorite Characters at Disneyland Resort

Easily one of the most important to-dos on a Disney vacation is filling up every page of your autograph book with character signatures. But finding all those characters, well that can be a bit trickier. As you enter either Disneyland Park or California Adventure times guides for the day are available, but they only show a select number of character meet and greets.

Why!?

Top secret Disney reasons. But, I venture to guess that if all the meet & greets were printed, there would be longer lines. So it could be done this way to maintain more control over the wait times. There is another trick to find your favorites at the end of the post. But first…

Now, keep in mind that Disney changes things all the time. Meaning this list may not be 100% accurate 100% of the time, but I’ll be doing my best to update it periodically. The characters schedule changes from day to day, so I’m not going to post any specific times. But stick around, and I’ll explain how you can find the schedules.

YOU can help, by letting me know about any characters that weren’t where I said or new characters you found that I didn’t.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park is filled with many of the classic characters from princesses, to evil queens, and then some Star Wars in between.

Main Street U.S.A.

These characters are generally stationed in the center hub, near the flagpole, just past the train station. Or, they may be scattered near the stores around the hub. They’re out there, in rotation, for most of the day. So, if you don’t see the character you are looking for, hang out for a while.

  • Chip & Dale
  • Cruella De Vil
  • Goofy
  • Mickey
  • Minnie
  • Pluto

Adnventureland

There is currently only 1 character meet and greet and to my knowledge, as of this writing, it is the only place you can meet Moana at either Disneyland or Disney World. Now, I haven’t seen many reports about meeting Moana, which I would expect given how beloved she is. So, it’s possible that her schedule is extremely limited, or that she’s only out on certain days.

Critter Country

You can meet the gang from the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, right outside the attraction of the same name! If you are exiting Splash Mountian you’ll walk right past it, Pooh’s Thotful Spot.

  • Eyeore
  • Rabbit
  • Tigger
  • Winnie the Pooh

New Orleans Square

Heading on down by the river, you’ll find some more colorful characters – including some seasonal favorites!

Finding Character Schedules

There is a great tool that Disney provides to help you find all of your characters. It tells you their exact location, and their exact schedule. So, you can be sure to get all the autographs you want!

The Disneyland Park app, is where it’s at.

You’ll need to create an ID, or log-in if you have one. Then click on the park map, it will display all of the attractions in the park. Click on the word “Attractions” at the top, and choose “Characters” from the drop down. You can use the map to see which characters are nearby.

Or you can click “List” in the upper right hand corner, for an alphabetized list of them all.

See, greatest tip ever – right?! Man I love that app!
