Hold onto your Mickey ears, folks! Disneyland’s summer season is taking a twist that few of us saw coming.
Amid the sweltering heat and looming Halloween festivities, the Happiest Place on Earth is closing six attractions for some much-needed TLC.

Starting in August, Space Mountain, Disneyland Railroad, Disneyland Monorail, Animation Academy, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome will all be taking a brief nap. And no, this isn’t a drill. Each of these fan-favorite experiences will undergo seasonal refurbishments. Of course, this is all part of Disneyland’s usual routine, but during the peak of summer? Oh, the humanity!
Space Mountain is the big shocker here. The iconic indoor roller coaster will go dark starting August 5 for a month-long refurbishment, but no announced re-opening date. Get your final space thrills in before it closes, and until it reopens, try not to scream like Emperor Zurg stole your fast pass.

The Disneyland Railroad and Monorail will also stop chugging along on August 5 and 12, respectively.
Animation Academy and Turtle Talk with Crush are hitting the pause button on August 5. Great news for Turtle Talk fans—Crush will be back by August 16. Unfortunately, there’s no set return date for Animation Academy, so keep those sketchbooks handy.

Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome will take a chill pill from August 5-15. Let it go, Elsa would say, but we all know we’ll miss giving warm hugs!

Disneyland is also juggling a few more refurbishments. The Haunted Mansion fans, fear not—our beloved spooky abode will rise from the ashes by August 23, just in time to terrify guests for Halloween. Fabulous!
Critter Country staples like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes remain shut, wrapping up work to transform the area into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Patience,
