The Ultimate Guide to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

It’s here! It’s here! It may only be August but it’s Halloween Time at the Magic Kingdom, and there’s a big celebration going down.

If you’re counting down the days until you can start carving pumpkins, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is were you need to be.

What is The Not So Scary Halloween Party?

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the seasonal celebration at Disney World for Halloween. It is a separate ticketed event, which means you cannot attend with a normal park ticket. The  party takes place on select nights from August through October.

How Much Does Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Cost?

Tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party start at $79/70 (Adult/child) and go up as high as $125, depending on which night. Now, that might seem like a hefty price tag but there is a lot that comes with it. The party officially kicks off at 7:00 pm and goes until midnight, however you’re able to enter the park at 4:00 pm, which gives you a full 8 hours of park time.

That’s not quite as much as a full day park ticket, but there are numerous special activities and shows taking place during the party you couldn’t otherwise catch.

What’s at the Not So Scary Halloween Party?

A lot! First over there are lower crowds than an average day, because it is a limited ticket event. Meaning they don’t admit nearly as many people as are allowed during normal park hours. That means shorter lines for you! Be aware that not all of the Magic Kingdom attractions are open for the party, but the heavy hitters (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Seven Dwarves etc) are as well as many others.

But there’s even more to enjoy, here’s our top 8 reasons to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

8. HalloWishes Fireworks Show

An exclusive fireworks show you can only catch during the Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. It’s filled with frightful fun and a festive soundtrack to match.

7. Hocus Pocus Spectacular

Your favorite girl pack have taken over Cinderella’s castle to put on a spooktacular show just for you. See the Sanderson Sisters live!

6. Boo to You Halloween Parade

A one of a kind parade filled with iconic Disney magic, and lead by the headless horseman.

5. Trick or Treating

That’s right you can actually trick or treat until your hearts content inside Disney! Regardless of your age, you’re welcome to participate. This is especially a great option if you or your littles have any food allergies, as Disney is happy to accommodate.

4. Rare Characters

One of my favorite parts of the Halloween party is being able to meet rare characters and see some of your favorites in their holiday best! Even all the villains come out to play.

3. Costumes

A huge bonus of the Halloween party is that everyone gets to wear their costume. Normally Disney doesn’t allow anyone over 12 years old to wear costumes, but for the Halloween party they loosen the rules. You can even dress as your favorite character! Of course, there are a few rules in place to keep everyone safe.

  • No weapons
  • No masks
  • No part of your costume may drag on the ground
  • If dressed as Disney character, you may not pose for photos or autographs

2. Exclusive Magic Shots

If you’re headed out to the Halloween Party you absolutely want to include Memory Maker for your trip. This entitles you to all of the photos taken by Disney photographers and on any of the rides. What’s truly magical about it though are the magic shots, where Disney adds some pixie dust. Magic shots are instantly edited to add in characters and special effects. You can find a whole list of all the current magic shots available here, but there are even more during the Halloween party!

1. Festive Atmosphere

And of course when Disney puts on an event they go big. The entire park is decked out to the nines in Halloween decor. You can get your fill of Mickey jack-o-laterns, scarecrows, and a special appearance by the Cadaver Dan’s!
