News & Rumors Round-Up: APRIL 6, 2018

So far this year we’ve had huge announcements almost every week! From new lands in Paris, to new lands in California. Park overhauls abound in both Hollywood Studios and California Adventures. And just when you think there can’t possibly me anymore news, Disney lets something else slip! Check out this week’s round-up!

New Faces at California Adventures

Black Panther made a debut appearance in the parks last month, and April will see another great character arrive; Doctor Strange! No schedule was released unfortunately, but what do you expect from this magical portal wielding super hero?

Monorail Makeover

I’m probably way more excited about this then I should be. But it just seems so right to have a Finding Nemo monorail sweeping by the Lagoon! The new look was debuted in preparation for Pixar Fest, which starts in just 1 week!!

Techy Changes Come to Disneyland App

While no official dates have been confirmed, Disney announced changes to the Disneyland App this week. Namely, the ability to order from select locations direct from your phone! As a girl obsessed with food at Disney, this is one I’m happy to see!

More Tech at Disney World

If you’ve been to Disney World recently, you probably used your magic band for everything from fastpasses to paying your tab and even unlocking your resort room. But changes are a comin’! This week Disney confirmed Bluetooth entry for resorts via guests cell phones! Could they go so far as to eradicate the magic bands completely? There’s never been a better reason to purchase a battery bank!

D23 in 2019

Dates were announced on Thursday for the 2019 D23 event! The most magical convention on earth will take place in Anaheim August 23-25. Tickets will undoubtedly be ridiculous, so be sure to check out my shop so I can afford to give you the rundown! 🙂

New FastPass Tiers At Hollywood Studios

For the time being, Toy Story Midway Mania is not distributing Fastpasses at all. I don’t know about you, but I will not be standing in the 4 hour standby line. But now with just 85 days to go until Toy Story Land opens, news has broken about the restructured tier system at DHS. Many will be happy to see Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster and Star Tours dropped down to tier 2. All magic comes at a cost though, and this time it’s the inclusion of all THREE Toy Story Land rides in tier 1. Time to think of a new game plan.
