Ultimate Guide to Vegan Options at Disneyland

I transitioned to a vegan lifestyle in 2019, about 4 years ago, and one of my first thoughts was “What am I going to eat at Disney?!” Even though it wasn’t that long ago, the options available were limited. But things have been improving quickly! Not only is there a litany of plant-based options available at the parks, but there’s, even more, to enjoy with festivals (check out Everything We Ate at California Adventure’s Food and Wine Festival).

It can still be daunting, however, if you’re just starting to plan your vacation and like me are wondering how to make it happen. Choosing to remove meat, dairy, and other animal-based products from your life is already isolating enough, you shouldn’t have to worry about it at Disney – and you don’t! We’ve created this comprehensive guide, listing every meal you can grab at Disneyland Park!

Breakfast

Am I only the one that thinks breakfast is the hardest part of the day?! The standard seems to be eggs and sausage or bacon. Sometimes it seems like the only option for brunch is oatmeal! And I think we’ve all had enough oatmeal! Disney has broken out of the box a little bit, but honestly, there’s a lot to be desired. Truth be told, if you are inside of the park during breakfast hours – you’re better off bringing your own snack and rope-dropping rides.

Ronto Roasters

Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
Location: Galaxy’s Edge
⭐⭐⭐⭐

A delectable dining option, The Ronto-less Wrapper, at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland

The Ronto-less Wrap is a gyro-style sandwich filled with a juicy Impossible Meat sausage, crispy slaw, and tangy pickle chips. Although it is available all day, I’d only recommend it for breakfast. It’s good, really good in fact, but there are so many other options for lunch and dinner.

Red Rose Tavern

Hours:
Location: Fantasyland
⭐⭐

The Little Town Harvest Bowl is a potato-based hash, served with a selection of sauteed vegetables. It’s good and it’s a step up from most options you’ll find, but a bit boring if I’m being honest.

Market House

Hours: 8:00 am – 11:30 pm
Location: Main Street USA
⭐⭐

This is actually a secret Starbucks and the only place I’ll stop for ‘breakfast’ in the park, and by ‘breakfast’ I mean coffee. Your normally available options are here including oatmeal (awesome, wow) and avocado toast.

Carnation Cafe + Plaza Inn

Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Main Street USA

These are good options if you are traveling with a group of omnivores. Plaza Inn is one of the most popular breakfast reservations at Disneyland Resort because it is a character breakfast. The only vegan option at both restaurants here is (surprise) oatmeal, and it’s vastly overpriced.

Lunch/Dinner

Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, but if you can keep up your strength until around 10 am you’ll be quickly rewarded. That’s because lunch starts, in most places, at 10 am – and it’s a vegan foodie dream. Check it out.

Royal Street Veranda

Location: New Orleans Square
Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

First up, Royal Street Veranda. Their Vegetable Gumbo in a Sourdough Bread Bowl is a decent attempt at a hearty vegan option. But, let’s be real, it’s more of a ‘it’s cold, and I need something warm in my belly’ kind of meal. The Mickey-shaped Beignets, however, are a nice touch. Fluffy and sweet, they’re a reminder that Disneyland magic can extend to food, too.

River Belle Terrace

Location: New Orleans Square
Hours: 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

At River Belle Terrace, the Deviled Meatballs & Grits are a winner The vegan meatballs are spiced well, but they can be hit-or-miss depending on your taste. The BBQ Tofu, however, is a letdown. It’s like they forgot that tofu needs more than just a slathering of BBQ sauce to jazz it up. The Pear Oat Cobbler? Well, it’s more breakfast than dessert, but hey, you do you.

Red Rose Tavern

Location: Fantasyland
Hours: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

Over in Fantasyland, Red Rose Tavern is serving up a Kale-Chickpea Salad that’s a solid ‘meh’ on the excitement scale. But the Spicy Garden Burger? Now, that’s a spicy surprise that doesn’t disappoint. It seems even in a fairytale world, vegan options can have a little kick.

Rancho del Zocalo

Location: Frontierland
Hours: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐⭐

At Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland, the Cauliflower Tacos are a fiesta of flavors! You can also get the Tostada Salad or the Green Chili Cheese Nachos, both stripped of their protein, sour cream, and cheese – but they feel a bit underdressed. They’re good, but you might leave feeling like something was missing.

Plaza Inn

Location: Main Street USA
Hours: 8:00 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐

Lunch plate of Impossible Bolognase pasts from Alien Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland at Disneyland

The Plaza Inn on Main Street USA serves a Penne Pasta with Marinara that’s actually pretty good! Just make sure to ask that they remove the cheese and breadsticks. The Southwest Chopped Salad, sans chicken, cheese, and ranch dressing, is fresh and crunchy, but could do with some more inventive vegan additions.

Hungry Bear Restaurant

Location: Critter Country
Hours: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

Next, we amble over to Critter Country, where the Hungry Bear Restaurant serves up a Classic Impossible Cheeseburger. Even after years as a vegan, I still jump at the chance to have a burger. The fact that you can enjoy it while staring at The Rivers of America, win-win. The Mickey-shaped Beignets are here as wel, just like at Royal Street Veranda, are a sweet reminder of where you are. They’re sugary, they’re cute, and they’re shaped like Mickey – what’s not to love?

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

Location: Galaxy’s Edge
Hours: 10:30 am – 8:30 pm
⭐⭐⭐

Heading to Galaxy’s Edge, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo offers several innovative options. The Felucian Kefta & Hummus Garden Spread offers a nice blend of flavors. And, the Temple Rootleaf and Moss Salad is a healthier option, packed full of greens and veggies. If you’re trying to eat healthier on your vacation – this is the spot for you.

Carnation Cafe

Location: Main Street USA
Hours: 11:30 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐

Carnation Cafe, back on Main Street USA, provides a somewhat uninspired Carnation Garden Salad. But hey, sometimes a simple salad is all you need. Packing all the indulgence, and none of the guilt, the Brownie a la Mode, on the other hand, is a major win! Lastly, the Chef’s Veggie Burger, is a solid standby for a satisfying bite.

Cafe Orleans

Location: New Orleans Square
Hours: Varies
⭐⭐⭐

Cafe Orleans, nestled in New Orleans Square, offers a Panzanella Salad that’s a refreshing change from the usual green salad. The Ratatouille Farro Risotto is a valiant effort that pays off! Offering a change of pace from the side salad and fries most of us are accustomed to. And the Creme Brulee? Umm, yes please! Look, it’s not the real thing – but it is DANG close.

Blue Bayou

Location: New Orleans Square
Hours: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Blue Bayou is where things get interesting. Their Heirloom & Watermelon Salad is a creative and refreshing mix, while the Lemon Basil Pasta is a delightful surprise. Yes, pasta can be more than just marinara! The Creme Brulee here is the same as at Cafe Orleans – and still worth every last bite.

Alien Pizza Planet

Exterior building of Alien Pizza Port, where an alien character blasts off into space before the entrance

Location: Tomorrowland
Hours: 10:30 am – 10:30 pm
⭐⭐⭐

Finally, we teleport to Tomorrowland and land at Alien Pizza Planet. The Impossible Bolognese is a hearty option for pasta lovers, but let’s be honest – it’s still pasta with sauce. The Satellite Salad, however, is a nice attempt at a more interesting vegan option. It’s not out-of-this-world, but it’s a good effort.

Ronto Roasters

Location: Galaxy’s Edge
Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

We’re back in Galaxy’s Edge at Ronto Roasters. Their Ronto-less Garden Wrap is the same for breakfast and lunch, but it’s a solid choice all around.

Snacks

Picture of a delicious - and VEGAN - Mickey Pretzel in Fantasyland at Disneyland

And now, on to the most important part of this piece – snacks! There’s a handful of specific restaurants offering unique and classic options including my absolute favorite in the park, Chile Mago Dole Whip! But did you know that all of the popcorn and pretzels in Disneyland are vegan too?!?! Now, the pretzel cheese is not but mustard is the far superior condiment in this case anyway!

Troubadour Tavern

Location: Fantasyland
Hours:
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Over in Fantasyland, the Troubadour Tavern is a hidden gem. Their Asante Sana Sambusa is a surprising and delicious treat that’s worth seeking out.

Tropical Hideaway

Location: Adventureland
Hours:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dole Whip Swirl of Mango and Classic Pineapple frozen soft serve, topped with fruit, cucumber, and tajin spice

At the Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland, you can cool off with their Classic Dole Whip or Dole Whip Float. Both are vegan and absolutely delicious. The Chile Mango Whip is a spicy twist that’s definitely worth a try.

Stage Door Cafe

Location: Frontierland
Hours: 10:00 am – 11:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland serves up some Impossible Chili Cheese Fries that are out of this world. They’re a fun indulgence for when you want something a bit naughty on your day out.

Milk Stand

Location: Galaxy’s Edge
Hours:
⭐⭐⭐

The Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge offers Blue Milk and Green Milk. Both are vegan, and both are… interesting. They’re a fun, quirky part of the Star Wars experience, but they might not be to everyone’s taste.

Harbour and Galley

Image showing the exterior of Harbour Galley in Disneyland's Frontierland

Location: Frontierland
Hours: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐

The Harbour and Galley in Frontierland serves a Compressed Watermelon Salad that’s a refreshing option on a hot day.

Bengal BBQ

Location: Adventureland
Hours: 8:00 am – 11:00 pm
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lastly, the Bengal BBQ in Adventureland offers an Outback Vegetable Skewer and Hummus Trio that are both delicious and satisfying. They’re a great way to end a day of vegan eating at Disneyland.

And that’s a wrap! Everything vegan you can get to eat at Disneyland park. What’s your favorite?
