Ever tried to guess which of the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Songs you’ll get on your adventure? Or maybe you didn’t know there are six different songs chosen at ‘random’ for each ride? Well not to worry, we’ve got the answers to both these questions and more!

Attraction Background

Let’s first discuss this spectacular new attraction and how it came to be in Epcot. The highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind opened on May 27, 2022. It took nearly five years for this marvelous new ride to debut.

Get it? Marvelous? Because GOTG is a Marvel comic. I’ll see myself out.

Cosmic Rewind is one of the fastest coasters on Disney World property and one of the most thrilling rides. Clocking in at 60 mph!

This thrilling journey through the stars features; a backward launch, unpredictable twists and turns, and a rotating ride vehicle. Also, did I mention it is in the dark a la Space Mountain? Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is certainly not for the faint of heart.

Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Soundtracks

Star Lord, Gamora, Groot, and the whole gang are known for their outrageous mixtapes. This is well represented at Guardians of the Galaxy – Misson: Breakout! in California Adventure, with its collection of soundtracks. When Disney first announced an East Coast counterpart we all wondered if the songs would stick.

Unfortunately, you can’t rock out to the Jackson Five’s ‘ABC’ on Cosmic Rewind. Well, you can but you’ll have to supply your own earbuds. Disney is always looking to keep us entertained (and on our toes) and they’re doing it here again.

Fun Facts: Disney tested 100 songs for Cosmic Rewind before making the final cut. Can you imagine getting to experience this new attraction more than 100 times?!

Cosmic Rewind Song List

So, yes! There are multiple soundtracks for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Walt Disney World. You can get any of these six songs during a regular visit to Epcot.

• “Conga” by Gloria Estefan
• “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps
• “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears
• “I Ran” by A Flock of Seagulls
• “One Way or Another” by Blondie
• “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Holiday Remix

Can we just stop and talk about something for a minute? It’s really bothering me. Why do the GOTG rides have such long names? Especially the holiday overlays!

Even the abbreviations are long: GotGCRHR. That’s practically a word all on its own. Ridiculous, get it together team that names attractions!

You won’t be able to catch these, truly iconic, songs at GotGCRHR during the most wonderful time of the year though. Once Epcot starts lighting their Christmas trees the holiday overlays begin! Or at least it did in 2020.

Unfortunately, Disney has not announced the return of Holiday Remix for 2023. Don’t worry though, you can get your holiday fix at Living with the Land.

How to Tell Which Song You’ll Get on Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

If you ask someone at Disney how the soundtracks work, they’ll probably tell you that it’s random. While that might be the case, we’ve done some case studies and I’m pretty sure there’s a trick. I’ve been able to guess the correct song the last 18 times that I’ve ridden Cosmic Rewind.

It could be a conscience, but it doesn’t feel very random to me.

As you board the ride vehicle look for a circular symbol on the back of the seat in front of you. Each song has it’s own custom version of this symbol that tells you which song you’ll get.

The 21st of September

There is one caveat to this strategy. On September 21 you will only get “September” by Earth Wind and Fire. Rightfully so.

Just remember this is my best estimation. I can’t guarantee that the symbol will match the song played every time. Disney could always change the symbols or songs at any time on Cosmic Rewind. And that’s assuming I’ve got this all correct in the first place.

So now you know all the songs possible on Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. Which one is your favorite?
